最近BB-8刚刚发售，我看了视频，深深被这个萌物打动，于是也想到亚马逊买一只。这篇翻译是美国亚马逊上BB-8的购买评价。给剁手党和真爱粉了解下具体的情况。

The product video is fairly misleading here and it can't do a whole lot

I picked mine up today and was a bit disappointed by what this “droid” can actually do. First a few things it can’t do that the product video makes it seem like it can:

-There is no speaker or camera on the droid itself. It can not make any sounds or hear you. The actual app on the phone makes noises but nothing comes from the droid.

-When the droid is on patrol mode it just randomly rolls around and bumps into things. It doesn’t actual learn the room or do anything more than pick random directions, bump into objects, and then go in other random directions.

It’s a fun little toy but you’re not getting a whole lot for this price tag. A little camera on the droid that you could watch on the app and speakers on the droid would have made this a five star product.

它是一个好玩的小玩具，但似乎不值这个价格。如果机器人上能加一个让你在app上观看的小摄像头，再加一个扬声器，那这将会是一个五星的产品。

This is a great droid and toy to play with. My dogs immediately went into “puppy mode” when seeing whirl itself around the living room. It’s a little tricky to get the steering down at first but after about 5 minutes I had it down.

I was slightly disappointed that BB-8 doesn’t actually have a type of AI that makes it aware of the surroundings when it goes into patrol mode.

The projection is a neat feature and cool to show off to friends and young ones. Especially because you can record a short clip using your camera and then BB-8 will display it in front of you on your phone screen. The only down side is that I REALLY wish you could post this records of BB-8 to social media because it would be neat to share the videos that way.

The battery life is pretty good if you ask me. The box advertises 60 minutes and I had it out for about 30-35 or so and I didn’t notice any slowing down in movement. It does take about 3 hours to charge to full.

All in all I would give it 4 stars because it does feature a lot of cool things but it comes up slightly short in a couple areas.

Good job Sphero, and please release new software updates soon so we can hopefully record and upload our videos to social media.

总而言之，我会给这个产品四星，它的确很酷，但还有一些不足。

Sphero干的不错，希望尽快升级新的软件版本，可以直接录制和上传视频到社交媒体。

BB-8 has been a ton of fun to play with today. Even the cats got in on some droid-chasing action. The small head has little wheels underneath and attaches to the bigger body via a magnet - but the user does have to be careful in where to attach it. It had enough juice out of the box to play with for a little bit, but it does take about 3 hours to fully charge and runs about an hour on that charge. So there is some limited functionality that might disappoint some consumers (not ones who have watched the video). Right now (launch day 9.4.2015), the Android app does NOT support voice commands, which is a little disappointing. There is supposed to be an update “soon” and I expect the enjoyment of this droid will greatly increase.

Upstairs, the rooms have a medium pile carpet and several wool rugs. BB-8 navigated them with ease, including the transition up and onto the rug. The downside? If there is pet hair in your carpet, even after vacuuming, the head of BB-8 will pick up some of the hairs and need a small cleaning out of the wheels (ahem, ask me how I know).

It is adorable, fun, and takes a bit of time to master the controls. However, a certain very delighted 4 year old was able to make BB-8 move as he wished. The sounds and lights are great, although sounds are made via the phone app (would’ve been hard to balance and place speakers in a rotating object this small) and BB-8 stops working if the user shuts down the app - hence the moniker “app enabled droid” vs “droid”.

It’s incredibly cute and while smaller than the Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid it’s more actually more engaging and fun. Looking forward to much more play with it..

楼上的房间有一个绒毛地毯和一些羊毛毯，BB-8可以灵活地在上面行驶，包括驶过羊毛毯。缺点是，如果毯子上有一些头发，BB-8就会搜集一些头发，必须要从轮子上清理出来。

它很讨人喜欢，有意思，控制它的话需要花一点时间。但是，当4岁的小孩可以灵活控制BB-8的移动的时候他会很开心。声音和灯光很棒，即使声音是通过app发出的。当关闭app的时候BB-8也停止了工作-正应了这名字“app使能的机器人”而不是“机器人”。

它比星战中的R2-D2机器人还要可爱，外观上更小，更有意思。期待它能有更多的玩法…

sold everywhere so no point paying more then retail.

It’s not quite as responsive as I expected it to be, and I haven’t figured out how to make it peek around corners like in the commercial.

It’s a lil more then I wanted to pay, but seeing that a non Star Wars version is $20 less, it’s a decent toy.

It’s glossy finished, and about the size of an orange. I wished it could been bigger, like the size of a basketball.

It runs great on carpet and tiled floors, but it lacks the power to go from my kitchen to my living room. The tile is a lil bit lower then the carpet, and that makes all the difference when he follows me into the kitchen and is unable to get out!

-update//- the ball portion doesn’t work with sphero 2.0 accessories or its apps for that matter.

I haven’t figured out how to keep him from falling off the coffee table. I am using “explore” and that will hopefully make BB8 learn his surroundings better.

-update//- with more time spent on this “droid” I have finally figured out how to keep bb8 from falling off a coffee table. The limits of the so called AI is actually on the app itself.

-on the ground, bb8 will learn to avoid obstacles by bumping into them once or twice, “mapping” the obstacles in the app as more time is given to her.

-to keep bb8 from falling off a coffee table, you’d have to train it. It won’t detect that’s there’s danger in front of her and not fall off the table. She will always fall off. To stop this, place books or TV remote or dvd cases around the edge of the coffee table. After bb8 has run into them, go ahead and remove the “blockade,” bb8’s mapping system will remind her that the edges have obstacles.

Because the movie is under wraps and Lucafilm doesn’t want spoilers, the droid has limited features. Hopefully when the movie comes out, a new patch will be made with references from the movie!

BB-8跟我的想象还有点出入，我还不知道如何才能做到预告片的那个片段，就是BB-8在墙角偷偷探出头的那个动作。

感觉价格高了点，非星战版本便宜了20美元，这个价格我觉得倒还差不多。

它的表面是光滑的，尺寸像个橘子。但我希望它能再大一点，像篮球那么大。

它在我的地毯和瓷砖地板上行驶地很好，但是从厨房跑到起居室就动力不足了。瓷砖比地毯要低一点，当他跟我到厨房，然后便无法出去了。

我还不知道怎么样防止它掉下咖啡桌。我启动探险模式，期望BB8可以学习周围的环境。

由于电影还在拍摄，卢卡斯影业还不能泄漏信息，包括这个机器人的一些限制特性。期望电影能尽快出来，一个新补丁能随着电影出来。
