make: *** No rule to make target `clean'(archive). Stop.

if I add an new includepath into the configuration, the compilable project would become uncompilable which reports:

“make: *** No rule to make target `archive. Stop.” Whenright click and choose Build ‘ *.a’

Or

“make: *** No rule to make target `clean'. Stop.” When Right click and choose Rebuild all‘*.a’.

This problem has beed solved, the root reason is that Idon’t have the PPC related libraries which causes the failure of makefilegeneration.

I solved it by deleting all the unnecessary items in the BUILD__LIST in the prj file ,only SIMNTgnu & SIMNTgnu_Debug are left, then the compilation is good now.

Steps to check the makefile generation.

1. Open a command prompt and then set WIND_BASE env.variable.



set WIND_BASE=C:\Vx55ppc



put your VxWorks 5.5 PPC installation root path there



2. Set PATH



set PATH=c:\vx55ppc\host\x86-win32\bin:%PATH%



3. jump to mcoews_offs_00 directory



cd eXtremeDB\target\mcoews_offs_00



put your eXdb installation here



4. remove your Makefile



5. run makegen.bat. If everything is ok it runs quiet butmay tell you something in case of error



6. the Makefile should be generated in the directory



I guess you will get an error on some point. If your systemwill not be able to find makegen.bat check PATH settings, if it will blame thatit can not find /host/…/makegen.tcl check WIND_BASEsettings. Send me all other error messages.
