How to enable scanner on CN3 device

The SSPB is installed to/from \Flash File Store\SSPB on the device.

According to the InternetExplorer Info, SSPB 5.30.13.0265 is installed on the device. Another point to check if SPPB is in place is the applet symbol IntermecSettings within Start-Settings-System. Using Intermec Settings you can also check the installed
versions (Device Settings-System Component Versions).

It looks like your 'faulty' CN3needs a clean boot: remove battery; press reset button; insert battery; press-and-hold the yellow I/O button; the clean boot dialog appears; press either of the blue buttons on the right side of the device.

Clean Boot will reset your device to factory default except any changes made to \FlashFileStore. First the OS image is resetted and then SSPB is installed (orange install window bars appear).

In some cases, depending on what has been changed to \FlashFileStore, you may need to reflash the unit:

SSPB 5.50.23.0362

Install both packages on your windows pc. Prepare an empty mini SD memory card:
Copy all installed files from "C:\Program Files\Intermec\SSPkgCN3_WM_GPRS_WWE_3.25.15.0141\OS" to SD card
Insert SD card into CN3 (remove two screws inside battery place)
Press reset button in battery place
Insert battery and let the device reflash itself
After flashing is complete, remove SD card and delete all files on the SD card
Copy _SSTransferAgent.xml and the directory SSPB from C:\Program Files\Intermec\CN3_WM5_5.50.23.0362_SSPBinstall onto the empty SD card. You should have one file in root dir and one dir called SSPB on SD card
Insert SD card and press reset button
Insert battery and let the SSPB install itself (does one reboot at end of copy)

You can combine OS and SSPB install, if you place the OS files and the SSPB files on the SD card, keeping the dir structure. You have to rename \_autoflash.lst to \autoflash.lst (remove the underscore).

Hopefually you scanner will work again after doing this reflashing. If not, you have to return it to service.
