Position : Senior ASIC Design Engineer
Business Unit: ICSG - PS

As a product development engineer in the Performance Storage group, you will work on developing our next generation SSD Controller products.  This will involve taking
a design from initial concept to production form. Throughout you will work beside experienced engineers and be exposed to Microsemi's Best-In-Class engineering practices.
 
Responsibilities:
Responsible for design of digital integrated circuits at the IP block level. Responsibilities include:

Contributing to the investigation and definition of a     device feature set and requirements

Participating in micro-architecture and documentation

RTL design and verification at block level

Performing development activities such as Synthesis,     Formal Verification, and Static Timing Analysis

The position might also include emulator and FPGA based     HW and FW co-verification testing.

 
Qualifications:

Master’s degree with 3 years of experience

Proficient in VHDL or Verilog/System Verilog

Experience in designing, implementing and verifying     VHDL or Verilog/System Verilog based designs

Experience with design and verification flow

Experience with ARM processors, PCIe, NAND flash, and     DDR is an asset

Synthesis, Static Timing Analysis, and Logical     Equivalency checking experience is an asset

Experience with FPGA emulation and verification is an     asset

Good programming / scripting skills with languages such     as TCL, C, and Perl

Excellent analytical and debugging skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in     English

Job Description:
You will join a R&D team in design, development, verification and release of best-in-class firmware to Microsemi PCI Express switching products. Shanghai team, as
part of Microsemi global R&D, closely collaborates with geographical architecture, chip design, validation, marketing and application engineering teams for successful product delivery. You will be responsible for developing and verifying the firmware solution
based on PCIe, NVMe and storage technology.
 
Responsibilities:

Analyze technical requirements and build firmware     module designs

Develop and verify state of art firmware on embedded     system

Participate in specification, design and implementation     review with peers

Use of storage testers, analyzer and other debug tools

Write and review engineering design document and     customer guide

Debug and resolve defects reported from global     customers

 
Basic Qualifications:

Master or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering     or Computer Science

8+ years working experience on Firmware development and     verification

Strong C language programming and debugging

Excellent at both spoken and written English (passed     CET-6)

Eager to learn, team-working, and good communications

Experience with SoC peripheral device driver     development, I2C, UART, SMBUS, GPIO, Ethernet, DMA

 
Preferred Qualifications:

As an Integrating Engineer you will be part of our Applications Engineering team. We are responsible for working closely with the Product Development teams, Product
Validation teams, Marketing teams, and Sales teams to provide world-class customer technical support. We provide customer technical support to assist in design wins, customer product ramp, and customer product production. We offer a challenging and dynamic

Responsibilities:

Work at tier-1 customer site to plan and execute     integration test plans to ensure interoperability of Microsemi storage     products with Tier-1 data-center customers' platforms

Work closely with the customer and Microsemi internal     teams to define system integration requirements, manage deliverables and     support initial system integration bring-up to
full production

Travel within China and internationally, as needed to     work with Microsemi internal teams to plan lab tests, receive and provide     training, and to resolve hardware and software
issues for the market     leading Microsemi storage devices product lines

 
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors or Master degree in electrical or computer     engineering or computing science

5+ years of engineering experience

Experience in the Storage Industry

Experience in any one of the serial bus or networking     protocols (e.g. SAS, SATA, PCI-Express, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, TCP/IP,     etc.)

Experience with board-level bring-up and test

Experience with SW and FW bring-up and test

Good communication skills in both Chinese and English

Customer facing experience

 
Preferred Qualifications:
