作者认为之前相关工作多关注迁移技术如何实现,而没有考虑使用资源预留策略来提高迁移效率。本文则研究了基于资源预留的多虚拟机动态迁移。
1. (SII.B)介绍了如何实现资源预留。
source machine需预留的资源:CPU, memory (通过调整CAP的值来限制CPU的使用,通过动态调整VM memory size来控制memory resource)
destination machine需预留的资源:the whole virtual machine resources(通过程序来占用CPU资源,通过创建虚拟机来占用内存资源)
2. 本文主要内容在第三章节,主要描述了一系列实验,来研究:动态迁移引起的性能开销(performance overhead)、source machine资源预留对动态迁移性能影响、dest machine资源预留对动态迁移性能影响、多虚拟机并发动态迁移的性能影响、work-load aware动态迁移策略等。结论在最后一章有陈述。
