Solution

1)Installthenew11gASMOracleHome(onadifferentdirectory)asdescribedintheInstallationGuideassociatedwithyourspecificplatform:

2)ShutdownallthedatabaseinstancesthatareusingASMasstorageoption.

3)ShutdowntheASMinstance.

4)ReconfiguretheCSSservice:

ConnectasrootOSuserandexecute:

$ORACLE_HOME/bin/localconfigreset

Where:$ORACLE_HOMEisthenew11gASMOracleHome

5)StartuptheASMinstance(connectedasOracleOSuser)asusual(usingthe10gOracleHome).

6)Fromanothergraphicalsession,settheenvironmentvariables(ORACLE_HOME,PATH,etc.)pointingtoyournew11ASMOracleHome.

7)ThenexecutetheDBUAfromthenewASM11gOracle_Home/bin/dbua:
