CentOS5 下 安装Vmware-tools问题与对策

1.用虚拟光驱载入120M的linux-VMwareTools.iso后，以root身份在本地登陆CentOS5，如果是SSH等远程方式登陆，则可能会导致配置时网络中断，无法正常完成安装过程。

2.直接在Cdrom目录下运行vmware-install.pl是无法成功的。采用如下方式，遇到需要输入的地方直接回车采取默认值即可：

[root@localhost ~]# mount /dev/cdrom /mnt

mount: block device /dev/cdrom is write-protected, mounting read-only

[root@localhost ~]# cd /mnt/vmware-tools-distrib/
[root@localhost vmware-tools-distrib]# ./vmware-install.pl
A previous installation of VMware Tools has been detected.

The previous installation was made by the tar installer (version 4).

Keeping the tar4 installer database format.

Uninstalling the tar installation of VMware Tools.

Stopping VMware Tools services in the virtual machine:

3.上述步骤执行到最后进行配置vmware-config-tools会有以下错误：

Unable to create the directory /mnt/hgfs.

Execution aborted.

原因：第一步在/mnt下已经mount了该光盘，但没有umount /mnt，所以安装程序无法创建目录hgfs。

解决：将其umount，再重新配置vmware-config-tools：

[root@localhost vmware-tools-distrib]#cd /
[root@localhost /]# umount /mnt

[root@localhost /]# cd /usr/bin

[root@localhost bin]# ./vmware-config-tools.pl

Stopping VMware Tools services in the virtual machine:

Guest operating system daemon: [ OK ]

......

遇到需要输入的地方直接回车采取默认值即可。

4.成功安装并配置vmware-tools后，重启不能正常进入xwindow，提示“No screens found”

解决：敲入redhat-config-xfree86命令，进入有界面的显卡和显示器设置，修改之后，退出，提示/etc/X11/XF86Config被修改。重新敲入startx即可。
