cannot boot the linux, because of grub,how to do!

Only one Hard Disk:
grub> kernel (hd0,1)/boot/vmlinuz...... root=/dev/hdax (x----the number of r oot partition)
grub> initrd (hd0,1)/boot/initrd
grub> boot
or
Use the installation disk to boot PC, then
boot:linux rescue
grub> kernel (hd0,1)/boot/vmlinuz...... root=/dev/hdax (x----the number of r oot partition)
grub> initrd (hd0,1)/boot/initrd
